I recently had dinner with friends at Bonu. The overall experience was decent. The atmosphere was relaxed and not extremely loud. The seating is very tight so you must like who you are sitting with. If you are seeking comfort with more than two people this may not be a great choice. I ordered the chicken Parmesan and added meat sauce to my pasta. The chicken and pasta were tasty but not something I would crave. Unlike a lot of Italian restaurants, they do not offer bread to start and NO soup or salad with the meal. The service was by far the best thing about this restaurant. Our server was top notch Prices compared to other local restaurants are moderate to high for the food they provide. I stop by just to get the Bonu experience because I heard great thing about it. I was able to get seated right away. My waiter was very attentive and recommended me great options for what I was looking for. The drinks were made to perfection with the right amount of alcohol to have you feel nice. My food came out quicker than I expected. The calamari was fried with a nice golden crisp. The fettuccine was creamy and I add chicken with it. The chicken was a little over cooked and didn't have the moisture I was looking for but overall it was delicious. If you're in the DTSP area this a great spot to bring a dinner date or love good Italian cuisine, please stop by. My overall experience was pleasant and looking forward to coming back in the future.

Bony” is the worst Italian restaurant. Biggest disappointment. I am a big fan of Italian food and service. This happened for the first time. There was an order for a company of 8 people. When we took our seats, the waiter asked a young mother with a stroller to change seats, and she was offered to sit where she felt uncomfortable. There were many empty tables around. At the same time, they did not hesitate to take an additional payment from a large table. Of the 8 people, there were three children. Such a company was charged for $50 extra. We were not warned about additional charges. There was no children's menu. There were three families at the table, the waiter did not offer and did not break the check. We had to count ourselves. In the dish with octopus, in addition, there was beans, which turned out to be not fresh. Fettuccine with forest mushrooms had 2 pieces of ordinary champignons. We were particularly surprised by the small portion size. Everything was not very tasty except for dessert. My advice is to avoid this restaurant.

My first time at Bonu was back in June, and I’ve gone back at least a handful more times since then. The food is great, the team is friendly and personable and their DJ nights the last Friday of the month are a fun change in pace. Definitely worth checking out if you are in town!

I am extremely disappointed by the management in this restaurant. I just had dinner for my wife’s birthday. The server did an amazing job. By the end of our service. She was hurt by accident. Someone elbow her face by accident. She came to the table almost crying and her face was red from the injury. This is a work place injury. And where is the managers no where to be seen. I went to a manager by the host station and he was just laughing and not caring. When he should be taking care of his staff. I will not come back as a customer to a restaurant that management doesn’t take care of their own employees. Literally trash. I feel bad for the employees. Managers are supposed to do a table touch. And not one came to check on us. We had a reservation and a big party. If this is the way you treat your customers and your employees. Says a lot about the business. 0 stars.

Excellent food from start to finish!! Service was impeccable. Highly recommend the gnocchi. Beautiful new spot in downtown st pete! I found my new favorite Italian spot.

Amazing, homemade food. This place is top notch. Waiter Matt is a foodie's foodie with passion about his work. Can't over state this as a destination restaurant.
